The City’s Health Registrar shares office space with the City Clerk.
The Health Registrar records and issues marriage, birth and death certificates as well as executes voluntary paternities.
A birth, death or marriage certificate may be requested by mail.
A birth record will only be released to the individual (over the age of 18) on record or a parent listed on the record.
Death certificates will only be released to a spouse, sibling, parent or living child of the person named on the record.
Marriage certificate copies will only be released to the spouses named on the certificate, unless the requester has a NYS Court Order to obtain a copy.
An attorney can always request any record on file on behalf of an authorized individual.
The cost for each certified copy is $10.00 payable to the Gloversville City Clerk.
To obtain these by mail you will need to supply the following:
- A photocopy of a picture I.D.
- A check or money order payable to the Gloversville City Clerk ($10.00 per copy).
- A self-addressed stamped envelope (#10 legal size).
